East Valley Hospital Medical Center (EVHMC) first opened its doors
in 1958. The Hospital programs are responsive to the healthcare
and educational needs of East San Gabriel Valley communities. EVHMC
aspires to be the leading community health center in the East San
Gabriel Valley by providing healthcare services, programs, and resources
to achieve and sustain healthy citizens and communities.
More
than 7,100 households in EVHMC's five-city primary service area
are categorized as living under the poverty level, and EVHMC plays
a crucial role in meeting the needs of this underserved population.
All patients are provided with the highest quality medical care,
regardless of their ability to pay. The "Babies Are Special"
program combines prenatal care for mothers-to-be, including teens
within the school district and Medi-Cal patients, with education
on topics such as breast feeding, infant care and safety, and parenting.
The hospital also participates in the health fairs in the communities
they serve providing screenings, flu shots, and education materials.
